Very nice additions Simon. An oil barrel without a vertical seam line - oh what joy!

          Hi Simon
Coming together well now. Steve's right about barrels without vertical seams. The pyrogravure has earned it's keep. Did you make those pointy rivets individually or do you have a special tool for them?

Steve/Jim - the barrel still has normal mould lines to remove but at least it is simpler than a full join line

The big pointy rivets are provided in the kit. I have made some in the past though by sanding the end of a rod to a point and sawing off

              Hi Simon
I kind of imagined drilling a conical hole in a scrap of plastic and using that as a mould to push in putty to make the rivets. Being provided in the kit is not nearly as interesting :smiling:

Mr. T, nice touch on the interlocking armor plates and weld seams. I noticed them untouched in an earlier post but thought I'd wait and see if you were going to work you magic...:thumb2:

Sorry Jim - I could always cut them off and scratch some replacements.....

Hi Rick - I think most of the kit detail would have been lost under paint as the marks were quite feint. Not anymore :smiling5:

Nice work Mr T :thumb2: . I’ll have to pick up some of the Aber MG barrels as they do look good.
I thought for a mo that it was a toon tank as a couple of the pictures look a bit squished :smiling5:

                            O ye of little faith....

after a marathon (or should that be a snickers  ) six hour session during which 3 films were watched, lots of tea was drunk, 880 holes were drilled and 220 links were sanded, the tracks are now cleaned up

raised pins with retaining collar on the outer edge

Links were drilled with the recommended 0.6mm drill bit but this has left the pins a little slack - they are supposed to be a tight dry fit but I shall have to stick them in to stop them wriggling free
