Yes, sorry, I should have put it like that: glue the card to the cut surface, to reinstate the thickness lost to the saw. If you don’t have any, then of course this idea isn’t going to help muchComment

Well you've sorted that well Pete.:thumb2:
Nice to know that I'm not alone in realising that something needed doing in the right order !
That video of the take off and landing was good, how you would do all those checks, settings and fly while under extreme stress of war time conditions is amazing.Comment

There's some sanding approaching, so I thought it time to put a canopy on to help keep the dust out. Airfix include both a closed (one part) and open (two parts) canopies, so I'll fit the closed one for protection during the rest of the assembly, and painting, and then remove it and fit the open one. However, just in case I mess up, I've masked the closed canopy before fitting it, so I can always leave it in place.
I've heard good things about Bare Metal Foil for masking, so I thought I'd give it a try on the open canopies. It certainly conforms well to the frame lines on the canopy, but I found it tricky to cut - it cuts easily, but being shiny metal it's hard to see the tip of the blade against it.
I brushed some interior green on the closed canopy. I'll do the open one later.
I need to practice more with this stuff.
