.... but they weren't that clever because the diagram for the undercarriage on the other wing should have been a mirror image but was actually just the same  Not a problem though.

The parts went together nicely. Here is the card angle checker

The completed frames and then just added the mudguard and some kind of tank.

Next is get these painted and then build up the cockpit/bomb bay.

I built the undercarriage today Jim. That Jig was pretty damn helpful.

Thanks guys for all the positive comments.

Yes Mike, having the wing as a jig for the undercarriage is very helpful.

Today I've sorted the bomb bay and sandwiched the cockpit/ bomb bay between the fuselage halves. Again the fit was superb. Clamps off tomorrow and then some photos.

There are tanks inside the bomb bay, presumably fuel tanks. Not much of them will be seen once the bombs etc are in.

The tail needed clamping together. The fit was fine, just sprung apart.

Airfix give a spare canopy which I used to temporarily protect the cockpit and a piece of foam was stuffed into the bomb bay. The joins were sanded back.

With very little fettling the fit was perfect. This is the top join after light sanding. The join is virtually invisible :tongue-out3:

On good thing about the Mossie is that there are very few panel lines to worry about.

That's some nice news about the lack of panel lines, thanks Jim.

I can tell your enjoying this just looking at the office.

Scottie, John and Si - thanks. Appreciate you looking in.

Next job was to correct an error in the kit. The plane Airfix used to base the model on had been converted to a target tug which meant some details of the bulged bomb bay doors were incorrect. This is what Airfix provide for the rear of the bomb bay.

Next up the exhausts. Very clever way Airfix devised to make sure all 4 sets were right.

By rights I should have drilled out the ends but I chickened out as they are so small. Hopefully a black dot painted on will be OK.

I then built up the nacelles which went together like a dream.
