Most excellent job on the Denisons I must say. Camo in 20 or 28 is not easy to render looking quite right.
Oh yeah, SMLEs are very easy to oaint wrong. That and they come in about twenty different shades of wood (or, at least, every different British unit I've painted has a different colour!)

Well here I am late again. Just had a catch up with your figures Tim and they look really nice. Its amazing how undercoat and a quick wash makes the details pop. Great work

Cheers Chris. The Denisons are approximated, not dead accurate. I tend to try and get the shape and size of the patches close and not worry too much ab placement. My SMLEs (in fact any wooden stocked firearm) tend to be whatever medium to dark brown I have on the wet palette. These are Vallejo mahogany brown. I never bother with wood graining as it just looks toy like to me.

Cheers Mick. Makes it far easier to paint as well. After all, you can’t really paint it if you can’t see it…..

Wow Tim, looks like you are having so much fun with these tiny thangs. Wonderful paint job on them too. I had to up my magnification to 15X to see them and now they look even better than before, my friend!!!

                Prost

Lovely work Tim, as others have said, you did a very nice job of that camo.
