    Agree 100%.

Monaco is probably my most disliked track, a race that is usually won on Saturday in qualifying, but last weekends effort of who can drive the slowest was an utter joke.

All the 'action' in the first half of the first lap, but Monaco will never be dropped from the calendar, however dull and processonal it has been for twenty years or so. I mean, Bernie tried to get rid of Silverstone how many times (usually for a different reason each time, but never for the 'real' reason that he hated the BRDC. Allegedly) but did he ever entertain losing Monaco?
I mean, it's not that half the drivers LIVE there... But, as street circuits go, it's just too small now. Max doesn't have any run-off areas there, does he?

My entry is changing, the Toyota GA700 had me stuck on the first section with unfathomable painting instruction, I know Andy T gave this model a swerve. A complete change of tack and another first for me with a motorcycle. The car is off to sit in my stash for now

Just a quick question Bob. Does the finish have to be exactly like the real car (or maybe in another color) or can one do their own finish and use the kits decals on it??? I hope that makes sense...

                  Hi Allen,

I think as long as it looks like a race car (as opposed to a road car) then artistic licence is fine. For example, a Ferrari F1 car painted shocking pink and with sponsor decals would still look like an F1 race car, just a different colour.

As I said at the top of the thread, I want this to be as inclusive as possible without loads of rules.

                  Cheers,

                  B

WOW! Certainly a great turnout for a GB - I'll be following with interest.

Morning all. I have a quick question for the those with previous car building experience. My F1 car comes with rubber tyres and water slide decals that go on the tyre wall. These do not appear to be the ones where you peel off the backing paper apply the decal then wet the remaining paper and peel off leaving the decal in place but the normal water slide ones. (See photo)
My question is, do I need to prepare the rubber tyre wall with a varnish first or do the water slide deals stick ok if applied directly to the rubber. Thanks.

I have just done this with my build, admittedly much smaller than yours.
Mine were water slide markings and have never done it before so I put Microset on the tyre (dries up very quickly so have your decal ready to apply), squeezed out the water with a Q tip and dabbed a little Microsol on and left well alone. Worked well for me. Might go over again with Sol.
Good luck.Click image for larger version

They should stick just fine with your normal setting solutions, no need to varnish the rubber before or after.
