    'A third class ride'....PBI GB

'A third class ride is better than a first class walk'

So this is my plan for the PBI GB

The poor infantry have to put up with a lot of things......and probably the worst is having to walk everywhere.......so they cadge a lift whereever they can

Im not a dio builder so this will be a steep learning curve lol

Going to make a base out of fibre board......splodge on some filler.....add some grass and mud......place a bridge.....put a panzer iv on the bridge with some tank riders......a few foot sloggers......and a military copper pointing out the way.......sounds so easy lol

This is what im working with

Made a start on the base
used an A2 sized sheet of white 5mm fibre board....cheap as chips......cut into 3 equal widths.....the cut out bit will become a stream with water under the bridge.......ive edged it with black fibre board with will hold in the splodge when i dob it on

Bridge is first thing to go together since i need that done so i can work on the base.......going to need some filler in gaps etc

The bit of black painted fibreboard front left is an experiment to see if i can make a stone wall........was in an aquarium shop at 10 30 this morning buying a bag of fish tank substrate lol

The things on the front left are moulds to make dragons teeth tank obsticles.......i remembered doing these about15 years ago but ive thought of a way of making them better......back then it was a photocopy of the cross shape...this time ive made them from card to be more rigid......what you do is stick the cross on the back of some sand paper.....cut out fold up....tape up the edges to hold it together to make the mould....sand paper is on the inside to create surface texture.....mix up some wall filler with some concrete coloured paint to get right colour.....takes ages to dry solid lol

I was watchiing a few youtube vids......seems everyone was taking cardboard or polystyrene and spending ages carefully carving each brick......seemed a bit of a palaver to me.....why not just use real stone?......just a case of finding the stones a small enough size and colour and in small enough quantity.....12kg from b&q is a bit over the top lol........fish tank substrate comes in kilo bags in all shapes sizes and colours......sorted!
