Looking good, yep you have given yourself a big project mate, looking forward to seeing it all come together though.
Luckily with mine, the two vehicles I'm using are already made, so I've only got the dio and figures to do.... Lol

Used diy filler to add texture to the fibreboard base.....theres an imprint where the bridge will go

Plan is to paint dark green where the grass will go.....brown where the muddy tracks will go......light blue where the water will go

No idea how it will look.....totally out of the comfort zone lol

Great choice of colors. You found the right size and shape for the stones.

Bridge is painted.....looks a bit light in the photo
process was paint concrete grey......picked out the odd brick in darker greys.......a thin black wash to pick out the recesses and hollows.......then a light dry brushing in the original concrete grey to highlight the high spots and edges.....matt coat on top

All starting to come together. Bridge looks good. Aquarium substrate is a clever idea.

Found a teeny problem with the panzer lol

Its an early war version so the crew have the early uniforms with the big floppy beret.......but i want to do it as late war.....the tank riders are even in 44 onwards uniform with the putees......little problem i know but it would bug me

So emergency dash to hobbycraft for the last box of these on the shelf....at least im going to be getting plenty of figure painting practice lol

Surly by the end of the war the Germans were using anything that runs? I can't believe there weren't any earlier panzers dragged out of training depots etc and thrown into the mix

Technically yes but it would have been very outgunned by the end if the war.....stopped making the D by end of 1940......later short barrelled marks ended by mid 42.......what would have probably happened is during refurb the chassis would have got turned into one of the variants like a stug or flakpanzer

                      And dont call me shirley

I s'pose the thing to remember is, there is no right or wrong way to do a Dio, (or a model for that matter), its your project, and you do it how you want and it'll turn out how it turns out. You can keep things simple or be as complicated as you like, you can go off piste, or do a classic dio, it's your interpretation of something, or whatever. As I said earlier, look fine to me.

Maybe some staining, moss and scattered debris on and near the bridge mate?
