Tirpitz with this and that, slow return for me

    Evening folks

With Julie improving as the blo**y tumour continues to shrink. My mojo is starting to return from that dark tunnel. Found my bench hiding under cobwebs etc and a load of dust lol.

need to get back in the swing of things, in my small stash ( not ) i also have the trumpeter Tirpitz. Going to experiment with a new way to attach PE as well!

wIll post more after it goes pear shaped or i glue my hand to the bench

    So
    Tamiya 1/350 Tirpitz
    Eduard PE set
    Wood deck
    Deck masking set
Master metal barrels, 15 main battery and 5.9 secondary

Colour scheme: his journey to Norway. Nothing complicated.

Should be a laugh Click image for larger version

Really good news about Julie. Here's hoping she continues to improve and you can both get back to some sort of normality.
Look forward to this build. Saw a TV programme about the Tirpitz a while ago. It will be a stunning model.

I'm following this too. I fancy trying a ship some time.

Good to see you're getting back into it

Great news about your missus, Bob, and great to have you back with us once more, and a great model to watch being built. Three greats in a row can't be bad....

The Tamiya 1/350 Tirpitz makes into a superb ship. The camouflage was a difficult one when I did the 1/700 scale in her summer and winter colours, but well worth the effort.

I look forward to seeing her as she is most remembered.

              Rock on!

Thanks all, much appreciated. Julie's hopefully on the long rd to recovery. Immunotherapy now every 6 weeks for 2 yrs.

Ah the smell of glue again!!

Made a small start, the bossings ( right name ?? ) are a very poor fit so out with first layer of filler

The Instructions would have you glue all the turrets to a bracket and pin underneath the barbettes, therefore glueing in place. So glued the brackets in place to the underneath instead so the turrets are not glued but will be loose but movable
