nice looking model - the Trumpeter 1/350 ships are pretty good, but can vary in quality, especially in the provision of PE - some have full sets, the others partial. At this scale PE railings are really needed! Does the Taszkient have full lengths of railing? I've got the Trumpeter Dreadnought in the stash - and that only has partial railings - you have to buy AM railings to complete it - very annoying!
I'll be interested in following your progress...............

Not a lot of PE, railings only for the bridge area.

I assume theres generic sets out there for ships railings, will have a look. Good to have you on board.

After recovering from reading that you were going to build a Russian ship and taking some meds I should like to join the growing crowd of onlookers.
Unfortunately they weren't painted in 4BO isn't, you would have just loved that :smiling3::nerd:.
However if this is a subtle hint that I should build a ship then sorry, just too small for my eye to cope with . :smiling2:

Come aboard sir. Not too small but the AA guns are lol, bought new tweezers and new glasses being made.

Got quite a few ships in the stash so better crack on lol

Eduard do various sets of railings like this - https://www.eduard.com/Ships-and-sub...ing-1-350.html I'm not sure if they match the Trumpy rails, but there are USN, IJN & Kriegsmarine types as well. There are other Chinese makers & a search for '1/350 Railing' on ebay will give you an idea..............

The front deck has a lot of the superstructure moulded underneath it and part is hidden by the hull sides so i think in place it would be hard to paint!

Almost finished torpedo tubes, made main guns and will add pe ladders last

Started on the bridge and funnels, forward funnel is not good, also added prop shafts but left off rudder and props

Question? What colour would the AA guns be, bugger all from trumpy!

Love Italian Naval architecture. It looks fast just sitting there. They built some beautiful ships. This one is not just a pretty face. Lots of guns & torps to fight with.

colour of AA guns? Up to about 35mm, I'd say the gun itself would be a metallic dark grey/black. The mount would be the same colour as the nearby superstructure. Larger than that, say 40mm, the muzzle/flash hider & breech mechanism/ammo feed would be the metallic grey/black, the body of the barrel and mount, superstructure colour.
Not that familiar with WWII Russky Navy stuff, but that looks pretty good! The Italians always had a good eye for design......................it's just carrying it through into production where they had problems!

It had the same SHP as the French Dunkerque i read, over 40 knots, as you say Italian ships like there cars, handsome things, the Roma is a thing of beauty
