This is one of Trumpeters better kits.

I used the ASK decals to depict a Battle of Midway aircraft, one of the very few that survived.

Great work Barry, quite a large model too, cheers

It is ‘largish’ Steve. But after building the 1/32 B24 a couple of years ago with its 42 inch wingspan it really does not feel big at all!!!

thanks to everyone with your kind comments. I really do recommend this kit, probably the best Trumpeter I have built.

Beautiful work barry , I see trumpeter resisted the urge to overdo the wing corrugations ( usually a troublesome decal application on other kits )

Make no mistake I had to use up an ocean of decal solutions. I spent 3 days to get a satisfactory result.

Stunning build.I like the aircraft but think it wasnt best in service,Wasnt it at Midway that a lot were shot out of the sky off Yorktown?

Correct. This aircraft when it first entered service (1936 I believe) was one of the most advanced aircraft in the world. By the time the US entered the war it was obsolete. It did reasonably well in the battle of Coral Sea but at Midway were death traps.

Not my area of knowledge but a very neat build with super paintwork, especially the canopy framework.
To my untrained eye it looks like a brute of a machine compared to a lithe Spitfire.
