As I am getting close to completing a build which will be shown in the completed thread. I have turned to the M-42 which research will show that the vehicle started life on a converted M-41 chassis and for air defence. But with the onset of ground to air missiles it nearly had an early retirement. And so we progress to the Vietnam War and the M-42 was sent to protect ground forces against air incursions, but actually found a new life as convoy or camp defence. And the rest is history.

And so starting with the AFV Club kit and workable track set, I also include the Voyager and Eduard etched brass sets. Then to add extra ammunition both the AFV Club brass 40mm and plastic 40mm ammunition and ammunition boxes.

Apart from you tube historic videos taken during the Vietnam War I also have these two reference books..

Plenty to get your teeth into there mate, nice one, will follow along.
I was actually looking at one of these in a model shop last Saturday, but didn't buy it in the end, only cos my model stash is already too bloody big, Lol!

So the build is progressing although at a slow pace. I have decided to build the interior for the Driver and Commander and the first job was to make sure the turntable and empty cases shute lined up as some reports have had issues with this..
This is my solution..
Solution cement part D8 onto part D24 (shute) but do not cement it to the hull bottom. Follow the instructions in section 7 cementing part L6 and L35 together and clean up once dry, leaving part B41 untill later. This part (L6&L35) is cemented in place and left to dry followed with just a light sand on the inner face where the turntable rubs against it.

Then part D9 into D10 and then D7 to D9..

Then when dry with the bayonet fit, join the two parts together (Turntable and shute) it might be a bit tight so sand the two teeth on part D8 just to loosen up the connection.

Once they are connected (NO cement) The whole unit (Turntabla & shute) are then fitted, the shute into the box outline and the turntable into its place and a check is made for fit. I encountered no problem here.

with the shute located into its box outline on the hull bottom, liquid cement is allowed to flow around it and the whole is left to dry. Once dry the turntable is rotated untill it comes free from the shute, problem solved..

The floor of the lower hull has an odd shape to it I suppose as there is no interior then just finish it off as it will not be seen, and so here I have also filled and levelled it.
