How do you cope with the heat (or not)?
Really don't like the heat. Once it gets above about 22-23 degrees I start to get uncomfortable.
Living in the SE, (Kent) we do tend to get the worst of the heat, along with the South Coast and the SW.
My model making area is our small back bedroom, which gets full sun from about 2pm onwards, so gets quite hot.
We have a relatively new house (8 years old) so its very well insulated, which is great for winter, but once the house gets hot during the day in summer, it keeps hold of that heat for hours, and upstairs is usually hotter than downstairs, (heat rises, etc).
No we don't have air con, apart from a large portable one downstairs (which has to be near a window to vent).
I do have a large desk type fan on the window cill, but its a bit old and is quite noisy, plus it just blows the warm air around really, so not much of a cooling effect IMHO, (a little but not much)!
So the modelling tends to get put on hold for those very hot days, eg: whats forecast for the coming week.....

Luckily, my room is good, it's cool, and I can open multiple windows - the sun doesn't shine directly into it until 4-5 pm by which time I'm done.

Modern Goth movement started 70's post punk according to Google AI, (Bauhaus band anyone?) Original Goth's were Germanic and/or Scandinavian tribes fighting the Romans..... or summit. (y);)

Goth and steam punk ..... amazing including their sense of dress. .... just kicks it out there.

I was considering a steam punk jacket / tunic to be designed to go with my tartan troos. Still thinking about it.

As for the heat ..... i'm in scotland .... nothing to worry about although I am going to paphos on the 15th August. Last time I went in August it was about 40 odds and swore I'd never do it again.

And here I go again.

Only a few weeks ago you lot were complaining about wet and cold weather :ROFLMAO:
Peter, turn the fan around, suck the warm air into the back of the fan and blow it out the window.
Tis the British way, its always either too hot, too cold, too wet, or too windy. ;) (y)

Personally I love the heat, I live for these few hot balmy evenings we get each year.
Maybe something to do with being a June baby ☀️☀️

It will soon be grey and chilly 🌧️🥶

Geoff,

I have had the heating on today for a couple of hours, yesterday it was on for an hour longer. I think this year I have only had five or six rain-free days where I live and the damp conditions plays havoc with my Rheumatoid Arthritis. I am hoping for a few heating-free and pain-free days fairly soon!
