Should the bowsprit be angled as well as offset?Well the first part of bashing this kit and I imagine there will be plenty more as there is a lot of errors in this kit some I will rectify some I'll ignore

clearance enought for the figurehead and lines up nicely with the head of the keel.

Depends Pete in the book, no but according to info on the net and museum models yes it should, six of one half a dozen of the other i guess !! has something to do with the spritsail yard lining up correctly.

You know more than me Bri, I was just going by the picture you posted to prove the bowsprit shouldn't be central.

Good progress Brian. It's great that you are all tooled up after the Victory, things should be a lot smoother for SOS
This is progressing quickly. Experience with the Victory should help with this.

If you do have problems with forming the bow, it is sometimes useful to fill in between the bulkheads with balsa wood blocks that you can sand to the correct shape. Then the planking will line up easily over the balsa.
