Some fine micro surgery there Ian. Great work so far.
A great tribute build to a real hero. Off to a great start. Very interested to see how it all comes together.

YES DO SO Geoff it brings the model to life as thats why ive fitted lights in my planes a fitted motors an lights in my seaking on my tiger an also my merlin chopper on the fightdeck of my nofolk have a goGood start Ian

Excellent work Ian , i didnt realise you could get motors that small ! I was imagining the old Mabuchi jobs about an inch in diameter !
Well I’ve got all the internal work done. I thought I’d show you before I close it up, because I’m sure it won’t be seen afterwards. I’ve also drilled an hole for all the wires and done some damage that James Ward caused getting out, to put the fire out.
All looking very tidy I will watch this with interest My Uncle was a rear gunner on a wimpy and sadly lost his life.

Work of art on the interior Ian, I hope that some of it may be visible when you seal the fuselage up. Good work on the damage.

So I did some work on one of the pilots to have him looking out of the cockpit window.
But after completing the cockpit and interior, there’s only one seat.
So is it artistic license, or have Airfix missed a seat? Looking online at photos it looks like only one seat. So what I’m going to do is put a crew member standing up looking out.

A 'Second Pilot' was usually a new pilot gaining experience alongside an experienced combat crew before going on to their own command. The second pilot would have had a position close to the pilot somewhere. After 1942 the crew position of second pilot was replaced by a flight engineer on British heavy bombers.
In this cutaway you can see a folding second pilot seat position next to the captain's seat.

They are nice. The modern version is from the Haynes Vickers Wellington Manual. I've edited the corrected version, which for no.169 is cockpit roof glazing. I guess if you stare through window you get memories? It's only to show the seat positions for Ian. The crude diagram is from "Britain's Wonderful Fighting Forces" by Captain Ellison Hawks R.A. published in 1940.
