Brian's Sovereign of the seas

Early start and managed to do a few gun ports. This kit is not the same quality as the Victory and having to wing a few things that don't quite fit properly but that's the beauty of wooden kits (you can fettle stuff)

Looking good Bri. Got to be said though, it’s more a boat to be looked at rather than shot at isn’t it. So much gingerbread….

Tim you have no idea :) there is so much bling it beggars belief (600+ pieces) but saying that it also has 119 guns it was a very powerful ship.

Don't know if I did something wrong but two of the middle gun ports line up with the ribs and making things difficult :(

Did you get around the gun port issue Brian?
Yes Joe sort of had to cut away a portion of the rib and paint it black so it can't be seen from the front, but like I already said I'm not happy with the quality and planning of the kit.

So this mornings work! cut out the lower gun ports and attached the gun port cover and after doing a couple of second planks and seeing the poor quality I have decided to do a third planking with some walnut 0.5 x 5mm planks that I already have to give her a better overall finish, more work but should be worth it (y)
