Thanks Paul, I'm not sure mate as the starting handle was placed through the front towing pintle to my knowledge but I'm sure someone will know. I just had a look on line and I believe that it had an inertial flywheel which you could wind up to start the engine so I think the tube gave access to this.

stunning work Paul...details are spot on and look fantastic

Great to see all your skills being used to get this old kit up to scratch. Looking excellent.

Still chipping away at this. I didn't like the front suspension at all, it is very over sized and designed for the old motorised version of the kit. So I have had a go at scratching a replacement and the steering still works. When I have decided what angle I want the turn to be I will glue everything up

The rear panel was detailed up and fitted

Finally for now I added a pin and retaining chain to the front towing pintle.

Thanks for looking

I’ve pulled up a seat at the back ☺️. Absolutely stunning work on that suspension and steering rack and all the etch and scratch work too…..very nice 😎

I built this kit when I first started and also had the etch set. Made a right mess of it and only just got it together 🤣.
