Sometimes the written word can be misinterpreted, I meant no slight my friend.
My Grandkids have several air rifles and believe me I know how dangerous and indeed deadly at times
they can be.
Certainly they are not toys or anything to be trifled with.
The kids have a ball periodically going on search and destroy missions for rats and pigeons in and around the barns
when Grandpa says it's that time and they are of course under Sgt. Grandpa's supervision at all times.
While I don't know too much about them I do know they are in .177 and .22 caliber and can achieve up to
nearly 2000 fps! Absolutely deadly for small game and various vermin.
I myself love the old military rifles and have several in near perfect condition.
Some of my favorites include a Lee Enfield .303 caliber SMLE and with hollow point ammo makes a fine big game
rifle. The old Russian Mosin Nagant carbine chambering the 7.62x54 round is a powerful
"brush gun". Though the shortened version of the basic infantry rifle made for airborne operations it is remarkably
accurate even over iron sights.
Of coarse the SK and an AK are in the mix, semi auto of course.
I also acquired a Japanese Arisaka in 6.5x50 caliber, it is missing it's firing pin and ammo is near impossible to find
so it it just a wall hanger.
Of course there are several actual bolt action hunting rifles including a Savage .270 caliber, a Remington .300 caliber
and another Savage in .308 caliber.
