Well if you are going to start with aircraft, might as well go big - and this definitely will be big. Good luck and welcome to the fabulous flying circus!
would need to be hung from the ceiling as no actual real estate anywhere else lol
Wow, what a big entry into planes...nice. For a 1/72 kit, it has big enough parts to make the transition from cars. Not so painful but beware that it is a 34 year old kit re-boxed from Ertl days so I would suggest some dry fitting before hand. Hope the plastic is thick enough for certain areas to prevent warpage which occasionally happen to big old kits and depending on Italeris plastic molding. Ertl used to be in hard silver plastic...I've seen some in white. Italeri tends to be softer. What colour is the plastic in Kaci?
Anyway if you don't rush this, it will be a nice one hanging from the ceiling wheels up.

Haven't bought it yet. But appears to be moulded in light grey plastic
YES Kaci it is like my awaks same size but its a fairly simple kit an should be easy to build as my awaks has only 108 parts but mine will be a harder build as i intent to light it up

Should keep you busy for a while Kaci, and you will need a lot of paint for that Boeing in 1/72
WELL Joe i use a rattle can spray an there is more than enough paint in them to spray this plane but the detail is fab on the plane an Kaci just make sure you fit a good hook up up to hang it from the ceiling as i think these planes look fab when in the flying postion an you wont have to fit on the under carts will you Ma-am unless you want them to be in the down postion GOOD LUCK if you decide to do it which im hopeing you will

i may have the landing gear down as gives the option to display on the ground
AN I also love the boeing like this called the rivet jiont as i had one flying over our house the other day an god she looked big with a huge black nose as they are i think the eletronic warfare aircraft wich if i can find the space on a shelf then i may get one but if no space then i may do like Kaci is goin to do an hang it from the ceiling which is a bloody good idea from her

YES Kaci why not as they fly into land with the undercart down so that way you have the best of both worlds good thinking girl as i think you will do a fab job on the paint work like you do on your cars an remember if you get it to fit a lead nose wheight as she is a tail sitter
an when i build my awaks i will have to remember that also

WELL Wabble admittaley my awaks is a HELLER KIT but the plastic is very strong an no warpage on mine as i checked as i thought there would be as the box was well packed with fragile stickers all over it but the box was still crushed from the post office treatment but it dint harm the model not that i can see anyway an yes my awaks is an old kit but like my B58 HUSTLER yes had a bit of warpish but i built it with patince an it has turned into a very nice model esp with the lights

AN Kaci not tryin to teach you to suck eggs lol but as this is your first plane dont hurry it if you get it that is but if you get it just lay out the spruse in the box so you dont lose any parts but have a good think how you are goin to build it as thats what i do

the fuselage probably be biggest issue with the join down the centre
WELL Kaci dont worry about that as yes its a big fusealage 2 ft long in fact like my awaks but if you glue the fusealarge a bit about 3inches at the time an tape it up so ita a tight fight then go onto the next 3 inches an glue with a fine glue tip an GENTLY USEING a thin flat screwdriver you can open it up to get the glue in then tape it up tight till its glued it will come but just do the top an when thats all done full lenght then you can turn the fusealarge over upside down an gently usein a vey thin screw driver flat head you can the do the same glue thing on the bottom until its all glued but remeber a very thin glue tube thats how i do my big planes an they turn out ok but like i said just have a think how YOU are goin to go about it but if you follow what ive said you will be ok or unless some of the other guys can think of a better way to achive this AGAIN GOOD LUCK if you get it an i will help you if you need help but i dont think you will as you build them car in a fab way an they come out brilliantly

AN here is the fusalage an wings an they should be near the same on that stratoe tanker you are thinking of getting in my veiw a very easy build but others views may be different an here the fusalarge

Don't think 'oh it's a huge plane and I've never built one of those before'....... Think 'it's a box of plastic like everything else I've built'...... It's just the same, just goes together a bit differently
I will tackle any genre, they all have things I don't like doing.... With aircraft it's masking the glass and getting the joints at the wing roots neat
And once you've done one aircraft you will want to do another
