Scale Model Shop

What did I agree too!

I'm finding this fascinating for such an old kit, what it has regarding detail, or doesn't have, how it goes together and such
The biggest surprise here, with the close-up pictures, is how understated the surface detail, compared to contemporary rivet-fests!

It is to be fair quite advanced in areas, like the flaps on the wings can move (although one is stiff and one just flaps in the wind) and the landing gear can be stowed and the doors closed behind them. However it all is a little creaky and cracks in noises so I'll fix them all in position with it going onto a base at somepoint. The rivet detail is quite good, but with the poor panel joins, some maybe lost unfortunately. Think this kit was designed for children to play with back in the day more than a static model.

Booth time (well for some parts anyway)

managed to black base then added some preshade with white, before a little green/yellow to try and add some variation.

and then the second stage of the camouflage

the owner to be has asked for a yellow stripe on the rear of the fuselage, and on the underside of the wings. i'll allow the top coat to dry before masking for this and move on to anotgher area of the build to keep thinks going.

It’s coming along very nicely Scott 👍

Good job on the masking, it must have taken a while.

Paint work is looking great too, your work colleague is going to be pleased.

Geoff.
