discussion scratch building 1 72 scale 21cm k i2 german railgun

Hi guys


my latest scratch build railgun is a whopper, there was only two built the one I am building is the first the 21cm K 12 v.  the  gun was 135 ft long over buffers and the barrel was 109 ft long and the gun had to be jacked up by 3 .28 ft for each firing.  


I am using bogies from two leopold kits altered to suit there is a total of 18 sets of wheels everything else is scratch including barrel


   In 1 72 scale the model is 25 in long and barrel 18 in long.it has taken 6 weeks so far to draw up plans and build main parts of gun to where I am now, and I have a long way to go so might be done for Christmas .....

I wouldn't know where to start a project like that .  I am sure this will be a fine addition to your collection.

Ian hogg and john batchlor have a good book on rail guns with drawings of one side of the gun just need to scale it to 1 72 ,use a 1 72 wagon to get width ,lots of photos and off you go.....
