Hi All,

Here is the build of my newest model...... a 1/1 Paint Rack!

My Dad gifted me a Ryobi Cordless Drill with a drill bits set and even taught me how to use it today, my first wood project was building a new paint rack for my modeling desk. We measured the dimensions needed and then bought some wood for $24 AUD in the morning from Bunnings (Chain of Hardware Stores in Australia). Here is how the build went.

So first I built the outside of the rack

Then added the first shelf

Second shelf on

All shelves drilled into place

Here is how it looks now, my modelling desk is beginning to look good!!

Back to building plastic models tomorrow!

Nice job. By the amount of stuff already on it you may have to build an extension. :)

Looks like you're getting serious about your modelling! Just a small point though. Are the shelves fixed in place 'cos you've left a gap underneath? Betcha at some point you'll lose some tiny piece of PE under there! :D

good job,Bob,

better to get them up than ,out on the flat of the table, you lose so much space, must, fix my paints as well,

there like the weeping angles, each time i take my eyes, off them they move closer and closer :S

Great stuff, nothing beats making your own accessories. Looks good, but as others have suggested, you may need another one very soon!

Thanks all, I have taken your advice and built an extension with some spare wood in the morning. I build two small racks to go on the sides.

Also Gern the bottom is actually filled with Balsa wood to keep it balanced and slightly tilted towards to wall so as to stop it falling forwards.

Here is the update on the new racks

I hope you all liked it. All comments welcome.

very good use of space, like how your done that ,on the side of your paper holder thing, :D

see upstairs for thinking,lol, xD

Great minds think alike, I built a little rack a couple of weeks ago  but I can see I clearly need more paint! I am in the process of changing over to model air.

Yours is looking  good and very full I have only built about half a dozen models properly so plenty of time to expand.
