It's hard to see from the picture, but what colour is the hull behind the wheels? It looks black, but that might just be because that area is in shadow.

I can't say for sure Dave I've long since got rid of the model and I've not got the instructions, and I can't find the build on the forum sorry mate. But I think it was just a continuation of the side camo.

So that's the very dark, almost purple, blue then. Thanks Ian, that will do for me as I'm not fanatical about precise colours.

Stuart it is, I've already been in the garden collecting 'stuff' for the dio. Do you know if the Stuart was ever used after the allied invasion in Normandy ?

Yes they were used until the end of the war by the us and allied forces

Colin, go to Google images and type in - 'Dead Man's Corner' which is at St. Come. du Mont. nr. Carentan, Normandy. So named because a Stuart Tank was wrecked there by German gunfire, and the poor tank commander lay half out of his tank for a day or two, hence the name. I visited the very spot on my visit to Normandy. There is a cracking US 101st Airborne Museum on site too.

No ploughed field though.....
