Due to frustration from the Swedish post office (PostNord) screw-up with three of my eBay scale models (yes, I've lost them - and the money I paid for them :( ) I've done some retail therapy to take my mind of things. (E-100, Dragon StuG.III and a P.1000 Landkreuzer is what they "forgot" to deliver and sent back to seller instead...)

I also bought these for the kids. All the models I've tried to tempt them to build have failed so far, but when I built my three Meng World War Toons earlier they wanted to borrow them so yesterday I told them to choose one each and I think this is the right level to start with!

They are glue-less models that just click together, but I was surprised how well they were designed and built!
I'm going to get hold of the Sherman to complete my collection ;)

I also had a look at the Horton Ho 229 by Zoukei-mura but that was sadly outside my price range at the moment... It looks like a stunning model for sure - but very complex.

My stash is growing well. Much faster than I can build! It's going to be a fun winter when all of my money is spent on heating my somewhat too large house knowing I've got a healthy stash to pick and choose from! :)

I have a Tornado on my build list for this year which isn't going well. Maybe an idea to keep for 2018. I have a 1/32 Revell one like Dave so maybe a year long build.
I have a 1/32 scale Tonka too and I was also thinking of next year.

Yes, I plan to do a diorama with that building. I know it's a pain in the ... to build it since it's a vacuum formed kit but it looks really nice!
I'd like to learn how to scratch build such buildings and scenery and I think it's a good place to start with such a kit to get the dimensions in order and then start to replicate bit by bit until I have something plausible?!

MiniArt does have some really nice diorama kits for sure and with this one I'm just going to improvise and see where it takes me :)

I think these comedy tanks is the right place to introduce the kids to scale modelling. They're very easy to build, no glue (unless you want to) and the chance of success is 100%.
This is very important since they both are very sensitive to failure due to their autism, and if they fail something they'll never want to try again out of fear of failure... A really negative side of autism and I try my best to make sure they succeed in everything they do to boost their confidence. If they can build a couple of simple models and do this well they can progress to harder ones, and even survive a failure because they now know they can do it, but for the first attempt it must be successful.

In fact I can recommend these toon tanks to you seasoned modellers as well because they're a funny break! Great for a quick one session build! :)

The Trumpeter models are very cheap at the moment (?) and they have all the cool, weird and exciting, perhaps, maybe, possibly and "yeah right" tanks and they show no indication on slowing down either! :D

I've checked out the ebay prices and found I only saved a few pounds on the average prices these kits go for second hand. Still, I reckon I got a bargain for such a diverse selection - especially as they are effectively brand new kits so I saved a fortune when you compare what I paid to the RRPs.

My sons ordered me a kit each for my Birthday ( 20th September ) and they arrived this morning.

They know I'm an Halo fan, but I didn't know these kits were out, so you can guess I'm well pleased and surprised.

As I can't afford the airfix 1\24 or the tamiya 1\32 mossie this one will have to do.
And the tank buster just said buy me.View attachment 288168 View attachment 288170
Nothing wrong with these. I actually think the revell kit is great value for money.

I picked up their 1:32 hunter some time ago (another project waiting on time) and was pleased with it for a large scale model.

Be interested to see you thoughts and build on the mosquito.

Hope it goes well.
