These have been on the bench a while as ‘things to work on while paint dries’. I wanted to get them out the way before I go on holiday as I find it difficult to pick up again if I have to many on the go.

First up, a little bust, bit smaller than 120mm, not sure of exact scale. This is. Belgian Grenadier 1854-1871. This little figure was gifted to me to ‘have a go at’. It isn’t too bad but not as good as I would have liked. As with the next one, braid and lace are not my strong point, I just don’t have the brush control.

Next up is a 120mm 8th King’s Royal Irish Hussar

This is from MJ Miniatures. A nice enough bust but again, the braid is something I struggle with and it really is a focal point on something like this so not great.

I still enjoyed painting them though, it is all practice. In both cases, flesh in oils, the rest in acrylic.

Very nice work Graham - beautiful, sumptuous colouring.

I think the first one may be a Nemrod 1/15 offering. I've done their Vivandier bust, which I liked so much that I ordered two more, only to be disappointed enough to bin them immediately. Hey, ho....

Nice little mini busts there.Im.starting some new mini busts maybe 120mm.Some moan that 120mm too small as busts. At least they take up little room in display case.
Good work that man.

I ordered a couple of Nemrod busts, one is superb, the other has very little eye definition. Avoid the ones with eye covering headgear is my advice.

Thanks Richard. I really like 120mm busts, they suit me well.
