well I,have not done anything from this time, being the Vietnam war,and did real like this movie,
about major,H,Moore and the battle of la Dang, were on the last day ,he and his men,run to the hill,
and into an ambush ,of the Vietnamese, and just in the nice of time, his, choppers, show up to save them,
what I,m going for is some think ,like the pic, shown ,
well lets hope so,:smirk:
well have made a start on the old girl, and wow is she a monster, but a fun build, have not done one before,
and using the ,Revell,Ben UH-1D ,Attack Chopper 1.35,
that suits what I,need,
hope that you like my idea for this build,
did get some done, and base coated, before this furry, one came along for a sleep,so will wait for her to go,before,
starting the paint work,as if its no good for me,well I,m not going to harm ,my little friend,:smiling:so will wait for her
to go,ans should have time before Graham comes on,:hugging-face:

Nice one Monica, I nice idea for a diorama, and not a bad film too.

Hi Monica, nice...I built this kit too looong time ago. If I can remember quite a good kit for an old casting. Modified it to a slick.

Nice idea and a good movie until the ending which was Hollywood drama but fun. For me the best part is the cut off platoon fighting for their lives and surviving.
Here's a pic of the same kit you're building for reference...

Hi Monica.
Can see now why you had been asking about the helicopter a while back.
We don't see many dioramas of Vietnam ,so will grab a seat next to Jim and Richard .
John.

She's gonna take a lot of paint! The build seems to be going well. Sorry to hear about the issues with the airbrush. Hopefully it will all come good in the end

Pete
thats a good question,Peter,I,do think sand will scratch it to much, maybe true some atone very lightly ,and use a clear, over it,
or turn it into dust lol,

Hi Monica,
Great work so far.
thank you,Paul,do glad that your liking it so far,:smiling:

Hi Monica.
Looking good.
Another excellent book is Chickenhawk by Robert Mason detailing his time as a Huey pilot in Vietnam.Hours of flying routine trips interspersed with landing in hot LZ and the effects on personnel- great read.
Jon.

I concur with you Monika on paints !
Sure it will work out, it it was armour we would throw mud on it, but don't know
Good luck .
John.

There was a book knocking about on an exercise in Germany in the early 80's about the hughy in the front was a couple of pages showing the layout and the key to the instrument panel and switches and by the time you had finished the book you could almost fly one from the descriptions in the book.

oh how easy with armour it is to cover thig, but with flying things a little bit harder lol,

Hi Monica, great progress. :thumb2:

Aircraft are a different process in assembly than armour. It needs a more delicate approach to seam lines which if unlucky will need copious amounts of fillers and sanding. The ubiqitious mud is not much help to cover mistakes as they don't fly in the sky to splatter the aircraft. :smiling4: I wear different hats when switching genres.

Have that and was inspiration for my Huey build.

Monica, a bit of hard luck there, but I wouldn't worry a fig about the glue on the windows. These things flew many times every day in dust, rain, heat, you name it. The last thing on anyone's mind would be cleaning side windows. So I suggest a simple well watered dose of Lt. Grey on the side windows, then streak them a bit. Your machine is modelled in combat, not in a glass case.

Excellent start.
