Hi guys,

I'm back from my holidays do thought I'd better get some paint down.

I've started with the green, I'm not sure I'm happy with it (all done freehand, just used the paint guide as inspiration) but I'll see after the brown is on.

i love it Bob,

Given that a lot of German tanks had the cam pattern painted upon arrival to the unit ..(IIRC) the various tones on the green cam fit perfectly, and once you start weathering it they'll blend in brilliantly ...:thumb2::thumb2:

All looking fine to me, think the idea of leaving the tracks as they were in the brown primer and just weather on top is a smart move.
Glad to see the Zim is done, I've had to go back to milliput, the other stuff just pulled off when I put the roller on.

I'm planning on leaving one (or maybe more) of the armor plates (Schurtzen?) in red brown primer as well to give the imporession they were hastily replaced in the field.

Finished up the camo with the Rotbraun. Still not sure if I'm happy with the pattern, but I'm going to go with it. :smiling3:

this is brilliant, the paintwork looks excellent to me, the fact that you've got it laid down with just enough opacity to not obscure any underlying detail is a job well done,
the minute you start weathering and dirtying her up it'll just look stunning...

Cheers gents, and of course you are right, by the time it's filtered and weathered it should tie together.

Got a little done this weekend. First job was the areas of Zimmerit I'd (purposely) damaged.

First I infilled the holes with the undercoat colour, then went round the edges with deck tan to give the impression of broken concrete edges. I doubt any of this will be noticeable after weathering, but I'll know it's there.

The other thing I got done was hand painting all the little odds and sods. That's everything in paint now so I can gloss, decal and get on with the best bit (weathering). :smiling2:

Camo looks very good to me and it will only improve with the weathering. The damaged zimm is a nice touch and your painting of the damage is very realistic.
