Latest Acquisitions (2019)

Hi Allen I could do 9 Sherman on top of what I've already made but at the minut I'll stick at 7 and there will be 5 German tanks, 1 Russian tank as well.
Pete.
7 Shermans.....you really are an Odball :tears-of-joy: :smiling3:.

I was so taken by the HobbyBoss 1/72 Easy Assembly Sabre, that I bought some more............ the idea being to use them as....... a palette cleanser, or a mojo restorerP1060199.JPG

They all have fine engraved details, delicate parts, and the decals look fine - OK, the cockpits are a bit...............spartan, and the wheel wells are shallow, but at around £6 a box, they're pretty good!
I'm not getting any benchtime at the moment - I had a ( diabetic ) hypo on Thursday, and it has really floored me, and left me weak, and shaky. Feeling a bit better today - just as well, as the postie got me out of bed at 08:05!

I had set aside some funds for something else but this kit came up on evilbay and it's not very often you see them. So i just had to have a go at it.

A lovely 1/32 Hasegawa Fw190 A5 ST23 kit. I have plans to do this in a different scheme (don't i always?). Well chuffed.

I'm not a regular viewer of this blog but I did notice the thread about posties and shorts. I am an ex postie and it is a standard thing to wear shorts. In our depot it was frowned upon if you wore trousers. The greatest test was in the middle of winter with snow on the ground and yes we still wore shorts. However we would have five layers on top with balaclava and Russian hats on LOL. However we had one guy who would wear only shorts and polo shirt whatever the weather. You would know when it was really cold as he had been spotted once with a vest underneath LOL. I am still a delivery driver and I am still wearing shorts in all weathers. When health and safety tell me I have to wear trousers instead of shorts then that will be the day I retire.

Today received FOC

From Steve at PI&S, he very kindly offered to send them after I had lost so much due to it being such a water like consistency. All I had asked was could I seal over the first pour with a coat of varnish !
Great customer service

How was the Academy one? Is it worth buying?

Lee it was a good build. The decals aren't the best but the kit is ok. it was years ago i did it and with how i know to build kits now i think i would make an even better job of it. So yes it's worth buying.

While out with the wife shopping she decided to trawl the charity shops and I came across this. From a well known charity shop
Majority of the kit was in one white bag with two main original bags in. For £20 thought why not take a gamble. Checked it all through and every piece seems to be there, a couple of pieces off the sprues but iin good condition.
Not built this before but looks a very nice kit

That’s something a bit different. You don’t see many models of yachts, as far as I know.
