Made a start on this one, it’s not much about the build more about the base it will be on.

Ian,
this model is actually older than me! First released in 1955, it should be able to claim a pension next year! :smiling3:

Ian - I've thought about getting this, but the rigging put me off - Even the most rudimentary!

Yes that's the challenge Ron, I'm also hoping to put it onto a seascape like the Victory we did a few yeas ago.

At this scale I couldn't even see all the rigging, let alone fix it to the ship!

That Victory 'Copy the Box Art' mini G.B. was fun wasn't it?

HI Ian nice to see another floaty build on here whats the scale of the kit ? an how big length an such ?

Hi Ian this takes me back, made this with my dad happy days.
Nice work so far, love the part's holders :thumb2: .
Pete.

Got the masts and sails painted, now slowly putting the rat lines on.

Hi Ian you've got to the complicated bit good luck, rigging would be on me with shaky hands and bad eyesight, if I can think of any more excuses I shall add them.
Pete.

You're doing great with a pretty poor kit (those masts couldn't be more out of scale if they tried) I love the painting on such a small scale did you use a magnifier.
I really dont envy you the rigging at this scale.

Thanks Ken, and as for the magnifier I used the MK 1 eye ball.

Great work Ian. Looks Cutty Sark like to me.

My Dad's a bit of a Cutty Sark fanatic. He started the Airfix 1:130 kit in around 1970, and left it unfinished on the top of the wardrobe for about thirty years. He finally finished it in the mid 2000s.
