You're right Rick, for the old Sod's, not us young'uns. Besides, it doesn't have a 21 speed Shimano on it anywhere…...………….

I skipped the Shuttleworth show today because of the weather, so I will probably go to Peterborough, pending approval by the Finance Manager. Is your mobile number still the same John?

Yes Pete, seems there might be a good turn out from the forum.
Look fwd to catching up.

Oh if only I weren't across the pond, here in "what the hell is a model" land of reality bites!
I am truly a misfit in this wilderness of survival of the fittest, why without my kindness and conscience I feel some might not even be alive today!

Mail order is my only link to civilization, going and browsing in your local model shop is thing of dreams and fantasy. Never mind a "modelling show"!
I could not be happier though, as my distance from so called "civilization" is a blessing in disguise.

Why with all this Corona virus scare going on I feel safe and secure in our pristine environs and all us local folks are in our own way shunning
those from down state as we call it.

Enjoy your shows and stuff but be ever so vigilent and leave the Chinese take away alone for a while...
Jim

Ahhhhh...You wax philosophical friend Jim, I too share your bliss as well as your frustrations. I would not trade my solitude to go back
to the rigors of civilization, however, once having been a part of it one does miss the commradery of shared interests no mater how trivial or great they may be. Rest easy and know all is as it should be.

So true Rick, I was borne and raised in NYC (The Big Apple) and would love my weekly or so visits to some of our many hobby shops.
Working for the city and visiting every borough I hunted down just about every hobby shop over the years.

The best one was one called "The armor shop" in Miniola Long Island, a smallish place but packed with nothing but armor kits and accessories,
that was many years ago and I can't seem to find it online so it must be gone by now :sad-face:

I'm changing my position to a "maybe" at the minute :unamused:

A cheap part has failed on my wife's car but it has taken the clutch and flywheel down with it. If it's fixed in time we'll both be there, but I don't fancy the drive in my 20 year old Audi! As well as the risk of it breaking down the 20MPG would be a killer lol.

Fingers crossed.

Don't forget to take some pics. for those of us too far removed from the world of model shows.

Will do Rick, going to use the camera in the phone this time, much lighter and easier.

Hi Andy, best laid plans eh ! If you manage to make it I'll pm you my no now .

I might not be there after all. Still have toothache (4 weeks now) and don't fell much like modelling, or much else. Booked in for an operation on Tuesday to remove the damned thing at last, so soup all next week I expect.
