Hi all,

Just completed my first build of an aircraft in many years.
Isn't the best but got what I felt was a reasonable result on the body with the black outlines over white primer before three top coats of Tamiya XF desert yellow though I feel a fourth would have been good.
Struggled with wheel bays and ways to make them look good but was pleased with canopy and found use of different hours from tips on here helped a lot.
Other areas I struggled with where tyres and also the drop tanks and bombs though I tried white primer, black lining and white over coat.
Photos attached.

Now moving onto next build as I certainly have a fair bit of time on my hands!

Hello James,
Well it turned it alright in the end. I've read you had a few problems but these are all things you'll sort out bit by bit. This is a great place to pick up tips, but also have a look at youtube, there's loads of great videos on there explaining all sorts of modelling methods. So what's next James ?

Well I have started a 1:48 Tamiya Lancaster and after deciding against it then decided today to order the Eduard detailing kits as the interior just seemed too basic without it, though I've never used one so am not sure how it's going to come out

Nice result James. Enjoy the builds, hope your stash of kits is sufficient to see you through the lock down.

I haven't built one of those myself, but believe, it is 'fun' ! It might be an idea to read some build reviews, this model is old world Tamiya.

Yes the kit seems not exactly perfect but think I can work with it. PE will be interesting as I haven't done one before.

I am planning to add bits of wiring and tubing in the cabin to bulk up detail as a it seems to slightly lack compared to some newer kits. I have some very think SS wire and also different colour mono fishing lines in varying breaking strains I'm going to experiment with and see what happens.
