No problem. I think you said elsewhere youd watched his channel. He's actually just about to publish a book, which I've had on order for a while.
Quite like the guy Andrew, he's tried really hard to make a go of his channel. I remember when he filmed in his front room , then a small shed before moving onto a building.

Sometimes even some quality time at the bench can wear you out!
Ah yes indeed, time flew by Si. Looking fwd to getting those bricks done though, then the real fun begins with the detail.

Hi John
This has been progressing well and quickly. Love that idea for cobble stone making. The building is very well thought out - all those years working have helped I'm sure.

Back after a massive brick scribing , added a couple of buttresses to one wall and a header of 4 bricks to the wall tops.

Some of the buildings where there is going to be no damage have had backing white card glued to the rear. This will be painted black and then the window frames added.
No comes the part of painting all the individual bricks, but first a coat of light grey made from some cheap acrylic paints using Daler Rowney System 3 . Well not really cheap but compared to 17 ml of Vallejo they are.

First just the foam board scribed, marked out at 3mm then using a fine .5 pencil the brick line ids down , then the vertical bricks lines.

Hard to get the courses to all match up, but when painted they all blend in.

The start of the first coat of light grey, this will when dry given another coat and a light surface sanding, this will leave the mortar bed.
Following this a black wash will be done in the same manor.
