Thanks very much people that was very nice & most unexpected.
Of to my eldests daughter for celebrations. Just to note in Jersey we are not in lock down so all is OK,
Just add that having lived through WW11 as did my wife Pauline this is a very special day.
We visited some years ago Bayeux British Cemetry in France. It is laid out in English garden style & beautifully kept.
There lay Sargeants of 19 Captains of 25. I defy any Englishman, as I am, to visit that place & not shed a tear.

happy birthday from the unespectedly still warm South of Europe.
There's a Commonwealth war cemetery near here. I paied some visits there in my former position and altough small and far away from the many homelands of those fallen soldiers, it gives a sense of quiet pride and steady affection.

Very nice of you all & very much appreciated.
Been to my eldest daughter where we had a lovely dinner. On our return one of the residents in the flat had left a cake with a lovely note.
