OH DEAR NOT MY MONTH

YEA Pete now i dont have to worry about cookin as i said to jen im the driver an she the chef as jen doesnt drive as she is to nervous an says there are too many mad sods on the rd an im inclinded to aggree with her

Now why didn't I think of that and this is why.... to stop being polite everytime I get poisoned, I have taken over the duties of cooking. My daughter doesn't realise the picture but I guess her husband to be will be cooking too.
The plus side of things is that I have mastered some of the local dishes, one of them was just last nights dinner...Curry Laksa, an egg noodle, vermicelli in coconut curry broth.
I take my hat off to those hawking this dish as it takes them less than 5 minutes to put together the pre-prepared ingredients for a take-away. I took an hour just to get the broth done or basically the soup with curry powder, chilli paste, dried prawn paste, shallots, garlic, ginger, lemon grass, gelengal, thick and thin coconut milk, fish sauce, chinese wine, sugar, salt and water. Then sliced chicken fillet, sliced fish cake, cut long beans and slices of fried tofu. The egg noodles, vermicelli and bean sprouts are blanched in hot water and taken out and put in a bowl then the hot broth and its ingredients poured over it topped with mint leaves. I got a thumbs up from my two ladies. To add more fire you can top it with fresh cut red chilli. Most would have added fresh cockles which SWMBO craves but didn't have them in the fridge.

It's now on my menu list.

HI Richard what have you had food poisoning by your daughter's
cookin ? as i ve never had that when my jen cooks she is a brilliant cook an knows what she doin in the food department an if i ate what you have got laid out in your menu id blow up lol

It's SWMBO's cooking...figuratively speaking I was still young and wanted a longer life with her. My daughter never asked why Dad cooks and thinks nothing of it. None of the ladies step in the kitchen and offer help when I cook...perhaps I'm just too precise with methods and want things chopped and prepared in a certain way that's shyed them off.

SWMBO bakes better than I do but the kitchen isn't her thing.

WELL thats a new one on me as i thought most women rule the kitchen like my jen does i admit i have to help her on some things like holding the chicken open so she can stuff it an a few other things but jen is the boss in the kitchen an for me thats just right after my first attempt when we got married an my omelett attempt lol

WELL Richard if you do most of the cooking i take my hat off to you very well done as i hav'nt a clue yes i can do microwave cookin so i wont starve if jen went on strike say

All three of us drive except the daughter who has a license is still the princess and gets chauffeured around.:rolling:

WELL Richard if you all drive how do you get on drivein in your country is there some mad sods like they are here an no patience at all an cant get there qiucke enough as i like to when i drive just hit the cruise controll in the car at about 50 mph an take it steady an be patience an show others curtsy of the rd an i slow down to let others pull out an that way life drivein is not so stressfull

If you can drive in my country you can drive anywhere in the world provided you follow the rules. In Sydney they have weird rules at roundabouts and they have gazillions of them in the suburbs. Speed limits are so strictly adhered to that my sister was worried I'd do one of my Malaysian thingy and get stopped.:smiling2: I've had practise in Singapore so that helped.
