Been all over. Southern England, Wales, Germany and Scotland. Too many different countries to say when you talk about detachments. Some hot and some bloomin' cold.
24 years in the mob - like you can count the number of decent detachments on one hand - being RAF what was your favourite hotel?
Regiment? Nice suntan from all those pools maybe - lots of posey photos, definitely not face, arms and knees then!
We don't have regiments lol. Squadrons are our thing. Was on 14 Sqn and 15(R) Sqn with Tornado GR1 & GR4. Mostly did aircraft bay support, which was fine by me as we got to stay on the detachments longer than the Sqns did. So a basic bay support detachment to Cyprus and Canada was 10 weeks minimum where as the Sqns only did 2 :smiling3:
Sounded like a Rock Ape for a moment - I apologise unreservedly - wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy!!! Love Tornado's, Buccaneer's, Harriers and any airframe that looks rough, tough and fit for purpose! Generally don't like pretty ships except, perhaps, Hunters and their ilk!

It appears that I run the risk of being ganged-up on! We always maintained RAF Regt was for those who wanted to be infantryman but failed Basic! LOL! Enough now or people will think we're serious! Love the cartoons, if we can't take a joke we shouldn't have joined!

Probably true - however we're generally out of barracks and doing the business ... ! And the Navy ---- bah humbug! Good for a scrap though!
