Fast approaching the parts i am dreading, PE and the seams on those monster guns:dizzy:;)

Checked books and sadly the barells were never oval or slightly square lol

Pray for me, i will need it!!!!

Looking good Bob. You’ll have to put a sunbathing sailor on the top to give it scale!
Don’t stress about the seams.....there are a couple of tricks that help.....
First trick, use the “wet or dry” on a solid backing. If you keep it flat it wont wear hollows in as you work.
Second trick, don’t sand directly along the seam or at ninety degrees to the seam. Both of those approaches will give you flat spots. Sand at 45 degrees to the seam and you will minimise the problem....basically treat it like an aircraft fuselage.

Thanks Tim for the great advice!! Sunbathing, good idea, perhaps he's thinking why are we going round in circles;)

Afternoon

About 50% of PE done, not hard just attaching open covers on the various vents, not as stiff as i thought!

Will prepare the barbette for primer, fix in place then add the vents

Then attach some walkways in place just prior to primer

Bobs gone to look at how much paint he has Chris, this is going to take a lot.:smiling2:
Right been to decorator supplies, got a 12 inch roller and a large bucket of battleship grey emulsion!

Might be easier to just dip the lot in the bucket!!

I'm really loving this, so different from the norm. Great work Bob, just shows what you can do with a roller.:smiling3:

As normal my PE skills are poor to say the least! The first walk way and railings is not good at all, the 2nd one I am doing differantly by add the walk way first then adding the fiddly railings

PE sure gives me headaches lol

Hi Bob
That is really impressive. All looks very neat and tidy and you've done a great job with the pe.
