Looking forward to build some of those 1/48 models, many ideas, not so many time :smiling5:...

Why does Brexit affect the price you pay for shipments from the US or China?Since the Brexit they changed some import-rules over here, we now have to pay 22€ extra taxes (18,47 GBP) for every item delivered from the UK, US or China, so most of my 'ebay-shopping-days' are over...
It's just politics, with the UK out of the EU they adapted new vat rules, and this changed for US and China as well. Even for an item like 0,50GBP you have to pay an extra 22€ at the postoffice or it's returned. It's crazy, just like our government. Not directly, but it used to be that import duties and VAT were not charged on things valued at under about €20 (I think the exact limit varied per country). Due to a recent change in regulations, however nothing is exempted anymore. The reason for it is, basically, protectionism of the EU internal market and its small retailers against overly cheap webshops in places like, oh, China. Brexit means that orders from the UK are now, of course, also abroad to us here in the EU, so the rules apply to webshops there as well. Why does Brexit affect the price you pay for shipments from the US or China?
Steven I've bought from Germany and Poland ,although there is vat there is no customs duty under I seem to thing £120.It's just politics, with the UK out of the EU they adapted new vat rules, and this changed for US and China as well. Thanks John, yes Jakko explained it better, the problem lies with the new import duty over here (for example the 'under £120' you speak of is now £0 here, so every item is now £18,45 more expensive).Steven I've bought from Germany and Poland ,although there is vat there is no customs duty under I seem to thing £120.
Sure I paid vat before on stuff when we were still in the EU .
On an order from another EU country? That would be strange, because in that case you should have paid VAT in the seller’s country and not in your own. Now you’re out of the EU, though, you don’t technically need to pay VAT in the EU but in the UK — but there appear to be various arrangements in place so that you pay your UK VAT to the overseas seller, who then passes it on to the UK or something. As I recall, the trouble with getting that arranged and working is what stopped a lot of shops from selling to UK customers at all last year.I paid vat before on stuff when we were still in the EU .
