I think the technology has gone one up with molding semi-transparent skin color over pre colored sprues in the Gundam world of Bandai. Seen one example a friend showed me. Really amazing.

Rick,LOVE THAT INTREPID!!! I served on board that old gal for over a year. judging from the boxart I would say at that point in time she was serving in the roll of an attack carrier.....with F8 crusaders on board that would be the early to mid 60's.....when I reported on board in late1971 she had changed rolls to Anti-Sub (CVS) warfare. I had the pleasure of visiting Portsmouth Harbor twice in my deployments.......met a couple of "birds" there that worked in a local Kotex factory......nuff sed! Rick H.
You gross boy - they weren't 'birds' they were 'two baggers'! (Explanation available on PM if requiredLOVE THAT INTREPID!!! Thanks Lee, yes Jakko is right and I don't think Tamiya have ever done this before. I'll certainly be interested in any reviews .From the modelling news... @John Race, maybe of interest?!

Dave, my information indicates the the Intrepid served as a CVA (attack carrier) in the years1954 thru 1957 then switched classification to CVS in 1960, then again back to CVA in 1964 thru 1968 and finally back to CVS in 1970 and operated in that roll until she was decommissioned on March 15, 1974. My second deployment to the Med. was that ships last active duty roll. When we came back from that cruise and anchored at Quanset Point, Rhode Island, she was sent to Charlestown and Boston Naval Shipyard. You will notice gaps in her service, I suspect those were scheduled refits and dry dock to keep her shipshape.Rick,
The Trumpeter caption says 'CVS-11' - would the CVS be operating F-8 Crusaders?
Dave
Quite tempted to get one of these myself..... Just out of of curiosity,I'm interested to see exactly what they're like!On the Zvezda Facebook page - 'order soon'
120 parts - snap fit! The Zvezda designers are really picking up their game
Dave
Tamiya have done a KV-2 before, in the 1970s or so. According to a post on Missing-Lynx, though, this is an entirely new kit and so should be much better than that old one. The main question is how it stacks up against the Trumpeter ones, I’d say. Thanks Lee, yes Jakko is right and I don't think Tamiya have ever done this before.
Thank you for that, I didn't check . The Trumpeter ones are ok, but there are discrepancies It appears that every manufacturer has omitted certain things, tracks wrong, bolts in the wrong place as they have all failed to capture differences between the different production variants. There are others Zvezda as well . Of course it all depends on how correct you want to be. The after market kit are a minefield to get right.Tamiya have done a KV-2 before, in the 1970s or so. Ah correct - should have been one of his hands/arms!Just saw this on Scalemates:

I notice they’ve modelled him with the wrong limb against the ball, though.
I was wondering about that too, but I noticed that on Scalemates, it’s in a category Soccer players. If you look at what else is in there, though, it’s nearly all generic figures, other than two sets of 2004 English players from Airfix.where on earth in the market does this fit in
70 euros as well !Ah correct - should have been one of his hands/arms!
