You seemed to have survived the first day Chris in your new role as cook , house keeper and medical assistant.
Hope all is well with Jen, and she's not suffering to much discomfort or you for that matter .;)

Just read all through this..... really sorry to hear of your situation but at least she's home where she can start recovery.

If you're after dead simple slow cooked curries I have lots of recipes I've accumulated over the years and culinary skills are not a requirement.
It might be worth starting to batch Cook...
Simple meals and boxed away in the freezer requiring only heating up.

Either way, happy to help you both out.

Give my best to your lovely lady and speedy recovery!!

Del.

Glad Jen is back home now Chris, just do your best mate.
In time things will improve, both Jen's pain and healing, as well as your cooking.

Stick with it Chris, things will improve more quickly than you think. The side effects from the drugs should get better as Jen’s body gets used to them. The healing process will start to alleviate her pain as well. Not only that, if you can scratchbuild Tiger, I’m sure you can cook meals. It just takes a bit of thought and concentration. Probably best to stay off of omelets though. The female of the species has a long memory about such things…..
All the best mate.

Glad that You got Jen home at last.
Two plates and a box of screws. That will teach you not to kick her so har next time. Also it will be fun the next time you go though a metal detector....

Well Chris, at least the hardest part is over, but there is still a long way to go for you both. I can only wish you two all the best and send a lot of good vibes from from downtown Germany to help in Jen's recovery. Please stay strong and this too, will pass. Please take care of her and yourself my friend....

Gute Besserung from Bamberg

When I broke my ankle and had a screw put in to hold the break together, they told me not to put my foot to the ground until I was told it was OK. This was repeated at the fracture clinic. After 3 months, the senior consultant at the clinic asked me how well I was walking. I said "I don't know, you told me not to put any weight on it" He replied "Yes, we say that, but most people don't take any notice". The result was that I had severely restricted movement in that ankle and had to have some (painful) physiotherapy for months, and I still can't lift my foot very far.
I had a similar conversation with the consultant a year after my accident: "Why is that screw still in your ankle?" "Because you haven't taken it out" "Well it's too late to remove it now, you'll have to live with it".
I did set off an airport metal detector once, in Kinpo airport, Korea, which was a bit scary.

I'm sure Jen will get better soon.

Chris, please explain as I'm innocent in these matters - just what do you mean by a 'knocking shop on payday' is that some type of drum workshop? :astonished:

Thanks mate - for a moment I thought it might be something sinister - I'm reassured it's only a payday jolly ... !

I might have gone on a cultural survey once or twice - but purely for a solely intellectual evaluation of course! Have no recollection of such moments ... aah, it comes back to mind now - those wonderful museums!

Some of the "ladies" on display in the Reeperbahn belonged in a museum.

I agree! There were some that wouldn't look out of place in the (un)Natural History Museum! :smiling5: :smiling5:
