Thanks Brian, it's not really that difficult, just take it one step at a time.
Lots of thought, planning and patience.

VERY true Garry an plans

Yes Chris, good plans though.
After a lifetime in the construction field as a project manager, I acknowledge that I didn't know how to build a school, hospital, MOD facility or factory until I had actually built one, then each one became progressively easier.
There is nothing like actually trying. One of my bosses told to JFDI (just flipping do it}, although not as polite as that ;)

I received the plans for the ship on the 14th May 2022 so about 8 months so far.
There is still plenty to do yet, if only my deliveries would arrive it would help.
That has been my main frustration, not being able to source items in NZ, I have to import far too much and it takes forever to get here.
Thanks for your help along the way my friend.

Looking very ship shape and Bristol fashion is that. A real achievement in such a short time.

JUST thinkin Garry will you fit on a merlin E101 HELICOPTER ?

Thank you for your kind words Tim.

I'm trying to source a suitable helo locally Chris, I thought it was a Wildcat or Lynx, but I'll see if I can find a 1/72 Merlin then. I'm not too fussy about which one to use, they did seem to use all different types at various times.

WELL Garry the R/N helos on our ships was mainly lynx has 8 or a seaking but mainly now a merlin E101 an ITALEYEARA make a very good one which can be all uncliped on the port side so it possible to make the door open so can be seen inside like mine but up to you

I took advantage of a glorious summers day, and gave HMS Iron Duke her first wet bottom.
Fortunately no leaks, just a minor drop from the port prop shaft, so will need to re-grease that.
I will need to add some ballast fore, and she has a slight list to starboard as well, that I will need to address.
A couple of the guys sailing their RC yachts came over to have a look, and were very interested.

Very well done! That must give you a greatly deserved rosy glow of achievement :thumb2:

She looks good afloat Garry.......might want to hold off on addressing that "list" till you get all her superstructure in place along with any peripheral equipment as well as ballast in place.......just thinking out loud...... ;) :thumb2:

WOW Garry great to see her on the wet stuff but i aggree with Rick wait till you have most of the fittings on before you set about any listing but very well done i commend you an in record time to an will you fit an more workin features in her as if you do then more wheight as im finding out on my tiger as i hope that this yr will be tigers launch time but here its all about the wheather an if i can park up at them ponds
