HI Paul yes tiger is lookin a bit colourfull now with them flags up just got to tomorrow fit up them H/1 signal flags as its lucky i have them an thanks to Doug tellin me about them as i dint know but got to put up another wire to take the H/1 flags as no room on the other flags wire an thank you also for lookin in PaulHet Chris
Those figures certainly do bring Tiger to life - they look awesome. I hope they’re all ready for the maiden voyage!
Seeing the colour in the signal flags also brings some colour to the ship, it look really celebratory and joyful now. I’m sure that Tiger will be a complete triumph on the water and I for one can’t wait to see her sail for the first time.
Great stuff Chris
Paul
WELL Doug i think she will leak on her 6 stabilizers as the grease is gettin worn down from me testin things an them so i may take them out an put some vasealine on the shafts as its water proof but will see on that but first ive got to get them lazy crew members to do it lolHave a tube of Water Weld to hand!!! Or send a damage control party. I'm sure some of your mini-men will have it under control in no time!!
CHEERS Peter yes i will be amazed if she floats an sails if she sinks they better get out the crash crew lol but when she in the test tank it took 50 pounds of batts to get her down to half way on her water line but admittlity she dint have everything on then like she has now an she is now a big girlAmazing!!
Peter
AN HI Andrew yes she's gettin there after 4 yrs of build an blood an sweat an some or a lot of tears lol just got to hope things go well on the day as gerry says he will vid her but a norwich boat club chappie came an see her the other day an he was gobsmacked as he knew i was building her but he dint realize how big she is an he also wants to attend the launch an vid her like gerry to put her on utube but wheather that will happen we will wait to see must say several people want to come to her launch maybe i ort to sell tickects lolReally looking the part Chris!!!
AN HI Garry cheers for your nice comments on tiger an yes i think ive done a reaonable build on her but on the day there is so much that can go wrong so i will be worriyied to death as the wheather is crazy here one minute sunshine then its chuckin it down so then i will have to abort the launch an if it keeps rainin then i will cancel launch an go home for lunch lol an other main worry is will we be able to park up as at sheringham as the holliday makers take up all the car spaces so may get there an have to hope someone moves an norwich pond i can only get onto that pond on speacil club events an there are only a few a yr an also big worry gettin her there with out breaking her as our rd are rough very so will need to take several nerve tabs on the day an I/D IS ALSO lookin very good very well doneChris, Tiger is really looking great now, I don't think you need to be too concerned about her sinking though you have done a great job mate.
The crew look the part and the flags really set the whole thing off.
I'm looking forward to seeing the sea trials videos.
Garry
Yes, as an architects' model maker I always included people and cars(which were bought off the shelf) to give a sense of scale. Irritatingly people often would just go 'Oh wow, look at the little cars'... never mind the bloody model we had made with great skill and usually an impossible deadline :tears-of-joy: :rolling:The figures do add that extra dimension and proportion! Excellent matey.
When taking intelligence pics you always liked to have a person in the images so as to give it perspective.
many thanks Mick for your comments cheersThose little chaps certainly lift an already brilliant build even higher Chris, excellent!!
YES Neil a lot of people just dont understand that a hell of a lot of work that goes into gettin the model built but some do as at last yrs model show at lowestoft lowmex i dint know it at the time but till my mate paul told me there are several other modelers sittin waiting to see me take my HMS NORFOLK apart as they wanted to see how id got the model workin through the hull jiont so when i did take it apart they decened on NORFOLK to have a look see an i heard some of them sayin so thats how he's done it very instreting an they went away very pleased so wheather they will try an do hull jionts i dont know an some took photo's of the hull jiont for future referenceYes, as an architects' model maker I always included people and cars(which were bought off the shelf) to give a sense of scale. AN HI again Neil yes the crew figurs do give a sence of scale of the ships size thats partly why i fit them an as the real ship also has a crew on board her so im tryin to imatate the real ship that to me is the whole idea of modelinI absolutely love this Chris! Bravo for adding all the crew,as everyone says it really brings it to life and gives a sense of the scale of the beast.
AN HI Jim yes im really pleased she is near finished after nr 4 yrs of work an this is the first time ive ever built a crusier as its always been mostly frigates an desroyers an the odd aircraft carrier over a 30 yrs periodAs others have said those figures and the flags really are the icing on the cake. You must be so happy to see your Tiger nearly finished.
NO WORRYIES Scottie superb will be fine with me as i hope she will be on the big day cheersChris,
Sorry mate I have run out of superlatives so I will simple say superb.
HI Doug well if you could get to the pond not only could you have a front seat but you could have lifted her in with me as she is a big girl now an the missus jen is goin to bless her an pour a little pompane over her bows after her stability tests lol as jen lanched my big USS NIMITZ aircraft carrier PIC BELOW an she sailed very well pic of her an she was bigger than tiger@boatman Chris. Just out of interest, have you got a bottle of champagne for the launch. AND, which Royal is pulling the lever!!
Such an endeavour deserves only the best.
Also - Can I have a front seat?
