Afternoon chaps




Starting the above build today made a slow start drilling out the 100 or so portholes


Going to try and take my time over this one, it's a bit smaller than what I'm used to.

It went together pretty good just used a bit of dissolved putty to make the join invisible

Hull went together nice and a bit of sanding finished it off

I've the Trumpy 1907 Dreadnought in the stash, but as is my habit, I'll be waterlining it - not easy, as all the cross bulkheads will need cutting as well - I did consider buying metal barrels, but I found the kit parts were just as good!

I've the Trumpy 1907 Dreadnought in the stash, but as is my habit, I'll be waterlining it - not easy, as all the cross bulkheads will need cutting as well - I did consider buying metal barrels, but I found the kit parts were just as good!

A bit disappointed with the kit there is only railings for 01 deck and not the main deck, but as you can clearly see from the box art there is railings on the main deck :unamused:

The instructions say no railings but box art says railings I have ordered some 1/350 royal navy Eduard railings

I source my 1/350 PE railings from Aliexpress https://www.aliexpress.com/item/100...3!sea!UK!133278962&curPageLogUid=A34dsKoDpYBl - theyr'e generic railings, but are applicable to all ships! - Cost wise :thumb2:

i have the trumpeter 1907 version under way (but currently on the back burner), I have water-lined my version and am adding a fare bit of aftermarket product so going at it slowly. Will be watching your build with interest.

My dreadnought in it’s current state.


I have fitted a veneer deck, a word of warning if you are contemplating this, the ‘self adhesive’ backing only stays put for a few days!!! I had to carefully lift all of the decks and add multiple spots of cyanolite to make sure it stayed put!!!! Just found a few more spots that need attention now that it has been bought back out of storage.
It’s going back on it’s work frame now and I may do a bit more in the near future now that I have seen your thread.

i am building the 1907 version, water-lined.
here is how I sorted it.
Might be a bit overkill but better that than a collapse further down the line!
