Just finished this. Out of the box using Tamiya paints and Mig weathering powders. It’s a very easy kit to build with just one decal option.

I see to issues that need addressing here.
1) where are the wings
2) that is far to good for someone that seldom does armour.

Thanks Ian. Of course the other glaring detail error is the turret isn’t 100 yards away in the neighbouring field, as most Russian tanks seem to appear these days.

The T-54 and T-55 don’t suffer from that much — not more than most tanks of its time, anyway. It’s the newer T-64 and T-72 and their descendants (T-80, T-84, T-90, etc.) that experience a jack-in-the-box effect rather a lot when their ammo stowage is penetrated, because most of the ammo is in a carroussel right underneath the turret.
I’m fairly sure I have a copy of this book, which should have plenty of photos of both T-55 and T-72 wrecks, but I seem to have misplaced it …
