Airfix reveal their 2024 range at 1600GMT on 9th January.

I’m going to be bold and make a prediction for some of the kits I think we are likely to see…and it is NOT a wish list.

Completely new tool
1/48 Puma HC1/HC2
1/48 Jaguar GR1
1/72 Ju-52
1/72 P-47 or USN aircraft
1/35 Saracen

Reboxes
1/72 Sea King HC4 gulf war
1/72 Hawk non Red Arrows
1/72 F-35B non-starter set
1/72 Blenheim
1/48 EE Lightning
1/48 Sea Vixen
Two 1/35 armour subjects, possibly a StuG variant and a Centurion

Vintage Classic
SS Canberra
WW1 tanks
WW2 airfield vehicles sets
Jungle outpost diorama set
1/24 Mustang or FW-190
Ex-JB models range - Bedford 4 tonners and FC land rovers

My curveball option (although the nice chap from Airfix told me 2025, he might have been fibbing because a different one let slip they’d corrected an error in the HAR3 drawings)
1/48 Sea King HAR3

I would like to see the, re-release (preferably new mould) the Collectors' Series of figures - but I'm not holding my breath!

Peter

I hope they have included a Wasp!!
It’s a sadly lacking kit by all manufacturers!!

Given their recent 1/48 releases, the Bucanneer, Sea King and Gannet, a Spey engined FAA Phantom would be a logical release. It is one 48 scale kit I might be tempted to get!!

Given that most of Airfix’s 1:35 scale kits are originally from Academy, I would really hope they’re not going to rebox their Centurion as well. That’s a copy of the slightly less ancient Tamiya kit which was OK in the 1970s but the only thing that kept it from being outdated by the late 80s was that there simply was nothing else.

Here’s my guesses for possible Airfix announcements for 2024.

New Tool

1/48 Jaguar
1/48 Lysander
1/48 Sea Venom
1/48 Harvard

1/35 Alvis Saracen
1/35 Land Rover

1/72 Hampden
1/72 Javelin or Sea Vixen
1/72 P.47

Repops with new colour schemes

1/48 EE Lightning
1/48 Blenheim
1/72 beaufighter

Vintage classic

1/72 Puma (helicopter)
1/72 whirlwind (ww2)
1/72 Airfield emergency vehicles

Easy build kits

As they have said a lot of retailers prefer non military subjects

Emergency vehicle ? Ambulance/police car/fire engine
Tractor

Lets hope we all get something we want :smiling3:

Geoff.
