Hi everyone, my name is Nik but, everyone knows me as 'Watto' . I returned to the hobby during the pandemic but, have been building kits; mainly race cars for a number of years prior to that. Most of my builds are 1\48 WWII aircraft and 1/35 AFV. The weathering and detailing is of particular interest to me but, I am learning all the time.

Outside of the hobby, I retired two years ago at the age of sixty, I'm passionate about Porsche race cars and am a Derby County fan.

I enjoy Rugby and Cricket and me and the missus are committee members of the Donington Park Supporters Club.

Watto .

HI Mike and thank you for the welcome. I'm Derby born and bred, supporting The Rams is fraught with ups and downs but, I wouldn't have it any other way.

I used to be the same with Birmingham City, but that was decades ago, then it was Arsenal when I was based in Chelsea Barracks and I stopped being a football supporter after the coins were starting to get thrown and still have the scale in the back of my head. Now I watch a gentle sport like Gridiron... Favourite car outside a Shelby Cobra is the Porsche 911 Whaletail....

I kept an eye on Birmingham because I'm a big fan of ELO and they are Jeff Lynnes team. What's not to like about a Cobra, although I think the Cobra Daytona is my favourite. I can only dream of owning a Porsche but, I've got loads of books and 1/43 & 1/18 diecast.

Hello and welcome Watto! I look forward to seeing some of your models.
Best regards,

Welcome Watto, looking forward to seeing your work. I only joined yesterday but I can say they do seem a really good bunch.

I'm not much of a car guy but I always liked the older 928s. Anything with round or pop-up headlights is automatically cool  even the TR7. As I kid I did have (well okay my Dad had) the original Le-Mans Scalextric with the Silver and Gold 911's - that was awesome!

A warm welcome from me too. Although if you insist on talking about football (soccer to our colonial brethren), then you may as well talk in some obscure outer mongolian dialect. I would probably understand more. :smiling:
John.

Hi and welcome to the forum.
Just a quick heads-up. The big three no go areas on these hallowed pages are sport, religion and politics. Cause of far to many 'heated discussions',
