Must admit I wonder at the market for these. They are aimed squarely at the RPG market, and some of the best figure painters in the world work in that field.

Yeah but can you imagine if someone like Games Workshop got hold of this technology? I mean, how many youtube videos are out there aimed at people that aren't interested in painting their 40K miniatures but want to play the games and want to get the painting out of the way as simply and as quickly as possible - isn't that the whole point of Speedpaints - One coat and you're done?

If GW could produce their own pre-painted mini's they made a fortune.

Don’t know about that Arnold. GW customers fondly remember when they used to go in the shops as a kid and could look but not buy anything. GW‘s current business model means they have already raised their prices to the point where you can go in as an adult and get that exact same feeling…..
