IMG_0496.jpegIMG_0495.jpegIMG_0497.jpegThank you everyone for your support on the cobblestone Road. I’ve decided to go a different route instead of adding the scout car. and of course, I was not satisfied with many of the kit parts so working on seats and some other added detail. Thanks again for watching.

Joe I like the Blue shutters on the house and the Jeep is coming along nicely especially the details around the seats clever scratch work

just a quick update, the armor plating on the Jeep came together better than expected. After a few bends and dry fittings, everything fit well. Continuing to add some additional detail and soon it will be ready for paint. Thanks for watching and hope you all have a wonderful day.

wow..that cobblestones work looks super...may l ask which unit are you representing with the armored jeep?

Ok because there were 3 units (there were maybe more in other division but l don't know for sure) that used armored jeep...the 82nd airborne recon platoon with 50 cal recon jeep used in Normandy, Holland and the Bulge. The 9th infantry recon platoon that used twin bazookas during the Bulge. And last but not least 82nd recon of the 2nd armored but the armored jeep were not the one you are portraing...if you are interested l have some pics... have a nice day

Yes thanks…I would love some pics

Morning Joe, or good evening your time , love that armour section, bet that was a job .

So here you have the jeeps from the 82nd recon platoon attached to Division HQ. Basically there were 12 jeeps in total all of them with an armor 2 jerry cans of fuel a .50cal and one jeep out of 2 had a long range radio. The .50 was mounted in the front on the passager side on a pedestal mount bolted on yhe floof and welded on the shield.
Unfortunately l lost the pic of the jeep in Normandy, but l have Holland (note longer side armour) and the Bulge.

Details of the back..note the mount of the twin bazookas

And finally..l don't have 100% confirmation but l'm positive this is a recon batallion of an armored division with armored jeeps..possibly 82nd recon of 2nd armored..20d3567edd6fbaf82aea2974475bfd76.jpg
Note that the 30cal is mounted on a central shortened mount and the water jerry can; note also the covered windshield. Note also the open cover of the radio in front of the passenger..
If were you l would do something like this.. :) :)

Great photos Greg, sure those will be a help to Joe.

IMG_0556.jpegIMG_0555.jpegIMG_0554.jpegIMG_0553.jpegAnother quick little update. Able to put the roofing on the second building, using a piece of corrugated cardboard that I have found from a package that was delivered. I cut the cardboard into small strips and peeled off part of the back to overlay on top of the next row of tiles. All in all, I think it turned out pretty good. I am still searching through the stash of details for the jeeps unit marking.

Love it love it, great work Joe, the street is looking really good . Love those broken stone sets

Nice to see an update on this fantastic build, Joe!!! I'm surprised they released you so quickly from the rubber room in the ward, after laying all the stones for the street. Beautiful work Sir, and the roof is most excellent too. I hope you find the decals you need and take care in uptown Pennsy...

Prost
Allen
