Seat harnesses and masks for the Typhoon. Some invasion stripe paint and some USAAF seat harnesses, oh and a P-51 :smiling4:
Cheers,

Geoff.

Good morning all

So a few arrivals over the past week or so from a range of sources, most arrived today from one supplier.

The crew is for the AFV Club 20mm AA gun I recently acquired at knockdown price

So for Father's day in Sunday I got these from the kids.....the book obviously has a connection to our hobby and the sweet treats are obviously important sustenance for a long modelling session

.....oh and most of them are still to be eaten!!

Just picked his up whilst dropping my daughter at work.....as my very old Humbrol one had set in the bottle.

Thanks to a voucher from the hobby chain in question, at only £5 is sooooooo much cheaper than the 'proper' modelling stuff (1/3 cheaper than the cheapest delivered Humbrol offering), even though it smells exactly the same as the Humbrol offering and so I assume is fundamentally the same stuff.

Mm, donuts...
That's the box, but what about the sprue shots?

Wait, does eating them count as a reverse build?

Crisis Convoy is an excellent book
Thanks Neil......good to hear. I heard excerpts being read on the Al Murray and James Holland WW2 podcast....they did four episodes on what happened to HX231 and so I had to get the book

No food, Toblerone are tank traps in 1/16 scale! :smiling5:

Now that is genius! :smiling5:

Thanks again chaps!

Ok chaps....so you had better sit down......

I think it goes without saying that we all agree that 1/72 is the one and only true modelling scale despite occasional dalliances with other scales we see on forums like this!

However, as you know, our very own Mod @AlanG has, over a number of years, been trying to corrupt me to dabble with larger scaled wingy things, eventually getting me to embrace 1/48 kits.

Well it seems he has finally corrupted me on getting something larger.*** As you may have seen, he is having a stash clear out and I found myself agreeing to take the below off his hands for a reasonable price.....

......that's right....

.....it's 1/32!!

And is it big or what!! I think I need to practice on some 1/48 wingy things before giving this a crack!

I also think I need to go and lie down to get over the shock of finally succumbing to his drip-drip-drip of comments on larger scale aircraft!

***Can't help thinking this was his plan all along!

Look at the bright side Andrew. Now you can turn on the washing machine in the laundering room again and make enough money to buy all the extra paint you'll need when you build it!!!

I went to a show at the Stammheim museum near us this weekend. I managed to get a few things and tried to stay clear of buying kits. Worked well until I saw this under a club's table and the price that was on it. €15 and brand new,

IMG_4735.JPG
I didn't even think twice and snatched it up. Other goodies were things (kinda) needed,

IMG_4734.JPG
The black square (L) is a 3D TET holder. Yea, I finally tipped my bottle over a few weeks back. A couple of reading materials that I found interesting and cheap,

IMG_4732.JPG
And then 2 that brought back some old memories of earlier modelling and a must have. Both for €4,

IMG_4733.JPG
And with no pic, a set of resin tires, a drill bit set 1.8-2.5 mm, and a set of metal barrels for the Flak 38 vierling. Yesterday I also received these two, fully installed and working,

IMG_4738.JPG
New gas boiler for my heat (L) and hot water (R) and of course,

IMG_4740.JPG
The thermostat to control the heat part. The old one was brick sized as you can see in the pic. Now I just have to go to college to learn how to use it. Lotsa time before winter comes...The downside to the boiler is, when it turns on, it doesn't make any motor noises or have any spinning propellers like the Ju-88........

Prost

Those Dörfler Zeitgeschichte-books are quite good, IMHO. I’ve got that one and two others, and there’s a ton of information in them on the types of units they describe.

I know Jakko, I've got some other ones too and they are filled with good info and many pics never published elsewhere...

Just got this from Taiwan:

Brand-new, released earlier this month :) I ordered it twelve days ago, and it’s already appeared — and without extortionate fees (€1.50 in VAT plus €6 handling, on top of the US$27 purchase price plus US$8 postage).

TBH, it’s not something I had ever expected to see: a Second World War mine roller in plastic. Verlinden did one in resin, that I have in the stash, and Lanmo recently released one as a 3D-printed and photo-etched kit. Which I considered ordering just a few days before I saw this one announced, so that decision was easy enough :)
