We certainly tried with 402 (283 4 square), 327, 350, & 302cu. in. Chevy small blocks before going to the 427s.

A real "barn find", 'Desperado' found in the same cabinet as the 57, in a box marked 1/25 tires containing said tires & several damaged & incomplete old models including a Plymouth 'Police Cruiser', Austin? bodied gasser & a small block powered 'Luv Truck' street machine. Investigation continues into missing parts.
... and you accuse us of obscure terminology ...

Just had a catch-up up Paul.

That's turned out beautifully. Pleased you managed to find some decals!

Thank you gentlemen.
A "Barn Find" is just that, a rare or cherished abandoned vehicle left to decay in a barn, garage or warehouse. A gasser is a slightly modified full-bodied automobile with an engine/driveline/suspension not original to the body used. Cubic inch displacement:curbweight determines where in the Gas Class it competes. There is a subclass for turbo & super charged engines hence the B/GS (2nd highest supercharged Gas class) on the 57's windows. The engines listed were pre-80s Chevrolet 'small block' engines & the 'big block' 427cu. in.

Damn Paul, An El Camino??? Ain't seen one of those for years Buddy. All 3 look good and it must be different working with such huge models too!!! Those were the days, back in the 60's and 70's. Gasser's, S/S, Wheelie machines, and Nitro Funny Cars...

I remember the first time at a drag race and It was 'Jungle' Jim in his Nova Funny Car vs. 'The Snake' Don P.........Jim did a bleach burnout, before he staged and the sound from his pipes, re-arranged all my internal organs. Then Don did his, and put 'em all back in place. Still get goose bumps today when I think about it........

My first memory was watching a grudge run between some local Bflo. NY hot shot & visiting "Ohio George Montgomery" in his C/Gas 33 Willys. The launch was 'heads up' & they were neck & neck through the first two gears and then the 33 started getting very loose into third but George just steered through it w/o letting up on the gas through 4th & the speed traps, winning by a nose. They call this "being committed" in F1 I think. Was a lesson to me, total commitment is often necessary to overcome.

Wow Paul, 'Ohio George Montgomery'.......Didn't Revell make a kit of his Willys back in the day. I have a pic in my mind and it was blue in color...

Sorry guys, the pic I had in my mind was a blue Willys and it turned out to be the '41 Willys from Stone, Woods, and Cook. I had a model of it back when and it was from Revell,

Sorry for hi-jacking your build thread, Paul......Those were the days though!!!...

The fig. came & looks suspiciously like Dom Toretto from F&F. Still need to weather 57 & finish base.
