Honda Z50 monkey bike.....for thise who dont know bit if a cult bike in japan......incredible amount of aftermarket companies who specialise in bits for it

Ive done a few different Aoshima monkey bikes over the years.....the chrome is good on this one but i can still see some bits im going to strip and paint

Not decided on colour yet.....red or dark blue but theres time to decide yet

Yup it is little but good things come in small packages.

Its surprising how hard this is proving to be.....half the size of a normal bike kit plus dodgy instructions plus sausage finger syndrome equals head ache from concentration :smiling6:

This is looking good. Reminds me of the old CT70 from the 70's. The kit looks pretty good.

Love this paul , I remember poring over the Tamiya catalogue when I was a young un and thinking the 1/12 Honda monkey was probably the only big bike model I could realistically get anywhere near affording ! As you show even though it's a big scale its still a tiddler! Looking mighty fine though , did it come with a 1/12 scale monkey rider ? Regards Bubbles

Lol no.....i wish icould get at my stash cos i have one of the tamiya rider figures.... . Would look funny .... full leathers knee down on this

Not much done today......paralympics on the telly so been watching that

The rack was a pain.....comes in 3 bits so one of those things where you need 3 hands whilst glue is drying.....also its supposed to be chrome but to make it easier i stripped it and went black to match the frame

Exhaust wasnt much easier....3 points of glueing

But the end is in sight

Honda started making them in the late 60s......they still do a version now.....bit of a cult bike for customising in japan

They also did a slightly larger but not yet a full sized bike called an ape
