Tamiya GB...Rules and chat thread

If all you have done is the office then I'm sure that will be ok if it gets you in the GB quicker

Thanks Paul - yes that's all I've done and minimally so. I've not painted the seats, IP's or anything else other than the cockpit tub and side panels, and even then they need drybrushing and decals etc.

This GB is really showing of the extent of Tamiya's varied range. We have various tanks, aircraft, ships, plus dinosaurs, doodlebugs, Field Kitchens, college kids. cars, motorbikes.

I've never built a Tamiya kit until this build and always thought of them for their tank models.

So fabulous.

Well, there you go

Fabulous indeed!

This is my build for this GB - the Tamiya 1/20 Williams FW-07 (GC2014)

I had already selected this kit for this GB but coincidentally, today I learned that F1 World Champion Alan Jones has passed away so this build will honour him.

I will post the box contents in a build thread next week.

Alan Jones has died? Damn. Now that makes me want to do this one as well

If it wasn't over seventy quid a throw!

Alan Jones passed away yesterday, very sad. It will make a nice tribute Dave.

As I've finished my Tamiya GB build (yes, yes, I know I tend to rush, Lol!) but I wanted to thank Paul for suggesting this GB.
Tamiya do some great kits, I've already built a few over the last two ish years, and I still have a few more in the stash, so I may well, no actually I WILL be doing another for this GB.
But as mentioned above, Tamiya do some great kits, in a vast variety, armour, cars, bikes, trucks, figures, accessories, etc, etc and generally are produced to a very high standard. Don't think I've seen a bad one yet?

Anyway, thanx again Paul for suggesting this GB, its already a huge success and most peeps have not even finished yet, bloody slow coaches, Lol....8-)

Decided to go a little bit out of my normal comfort zone, and do a civilian jam jar..... Think I've only done two in the past, the old Airfix Bentley kit when I was a nipper, don't think I even painted it, and the el cheapo (eg: £7 ish) Airfix Aston Martin 1:72 kit more recently.
But this will be my next entry into the Tamiya Xmas 2026 GB....

Well, either the Mini or the Pibber, so good choice. Still have my Pibber in the loft somewhere... If only I can find a 1/35 14-tear-old Laurence Fishburne figure...
